LS4005 *EAS Compatible
 The
LS4000 is all new on the outside and inside. State-of -the-art mechanical design
techniques allowed us to design in all the necessary curves and contours on the LS 4000
giving our customers the best ergonomic design available in hand held scanning. With these
techniques, we were also able to create a next generation look which is consistent with
trends in POS terminal design. We have also designed in a new 2 finger triggering
mechanism that makes the scanning process even easier and more comfortable. Rubber
material has also been introduced to some of the critical surfaces on the LS 4000 for
added durability. The LS4000 has a rubber overmolded canopy, rubber cable boot and rubber
bumpers for the exit window.
Improvements on the inside of the LS 4000 are equally impressive. First, we have
incorporated "Adaptive Logic" processing circuits for dramatically improved

*EAS stands for
Electronic Article Surveillance. Many Retailers are requesting that their bar code
scanners have the capability to deactivate EAS tags. To meet this requirement, the LS 4005
supports the Checkpoint EAS deactivation system. Sensormatic provides a "boot"
that fits over the scanner's head that allows all 4000 series scanners to be used with
Sensormatic EAS systems.

Put the LS 4000 in Symbol's IntelliStand and it
becomes an easy-to-use presentation scanner. Placing the scanner in the IntelliStand turns
it on; there's no need to trigger the scanner for operation. Remove the scanner from the
IntelliStand and it once again becomes a handheld bar code scanner.
