ELO Touchscreen Solutions

Features

I&E offers a wide array of touchscreen solutions using both CRT and LCD monitors. Utilizing the industry leading Elo Touchsystems resistive touchscreen is the key to providing durable, reliable performance whether the application is a restaurant, retail store, hotel, or industrial controls.

The patented Elo 5-wire technology can be activated by a finger, glove hand, or stylus and is provided on CRT monitors in 14", 15", and 17" sizes and also 12.1" and 15.1" LCD displays.

Which Type of Touchscreen Should I Use?

There are several different types of touchscreen technologies in use today, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Of all the technologies, however, resistive and capacitive are by far the most widely used. I&E primarily offers the Elographics resistive type because it is suitable for a very wide variety of applications including those specific to Point of Sale and Restaurant or Bar applications. Resistive also tends to be more cost-effective.
5-wire resistive technology has been tested for over 35 million touches - over 30 million more than 4-wire

Features & Benefits

Pressure Sensitive Screen

Allows activation with anything: an un-gloved or gloved hand or any object that can apply pressure to the touchscreen's surface
35 Million Touch Life Touchscreens are permanently mounted to the glass or LCD of the monitor, if the touchscreen goes the monitor goes. 35 million touches is superb performance that will yield years of service
Calibration Stability The touchscreen system is extremely stable which translates into few, if any, service calls
Chemical Resistance The screen surface is inherently impervious to moisture, dirt, vinegar and ammonia based products and cleansers
Factors in Choosing a Touchscreen Monitor
There are three considerations when choosing a touchscreen monitor:

Screen Size: touchscreen applications are highly graphical and work best on an uncluttered screen. If the application is packed with graphics a larger screen size may work better.

Interface: touchscreen monitors require two connections to the PC: the video connection and the touchscreen connection. The touchscreen connection can be either serial (COM1 or COM2) or PC Bus, which requires an available slot.

Clear or Anti-Glare Glass: if there is a lot of overhead lighting, fluorescent lights, etc. around the intended work area, anti-glare glass would be best. Of course, the converse would be true for clear.

Use the chart below to determine the best CRT/touchscreen combination for your application.
