Cognitive Frequently
Asked Questions : Software Compatibility
Will the Cognitive Intellidriver
or LabelMagic work with Barcode Blazer or Upwriter?
These software packages are not
designed to work with older Cognitive printers, but may work to a
limited extent With Barcode Blazer or Upwriter if the labels you are
printing are small, simple, and do not use graphics. Note that
Cognitive does not support discontinued printers.
The bar codes I see when laying
out a label using LabelMagic look different when I print them. Why?
LabelMagic and IntelliDriver both use
SIMBAR™ bar code fonts, which provide approximate images of bar
codes. The bar and space arrangements within the SIMBAR font are not
intended to accurately represent the code. The exact bar code width
will also vary somewhat from the screen representation.
Why is the print orientation
wrong when I try to print labels from my Windows application
using IntelliDriver?
You may need to experiment with the
print options and page settings in your Windows application when using
the IntelliDriver. Many (but not all) applications will default to
landscape print orientation when you design a label that is wider than
it is tall, because the application assumes the page is always fed
vertically. As a general rule, you should set the page orientation in
your application to "portrait" when printing labels. Please
note that this problem originates in the Windows application, not the
IntelliDriver.
Will the Cognitive IntelliDriver
or LabelMagic work with LogoSoft?
No. Logosoft is delivered with its own
dedicated label printing software for use with Windows 95.
