IntelliTrack™ WMS

  1. I am trying to install IntelliTrack WMS, but when I enter my serial number I get an error message telling the number is not valid.
  2. I have purchased a full version of IntelliTrack WMS.  However, when I open it, it tells me I have only a few days left on my trial.
  3. How do I adjust the size of a data collection field on the RF Portable?
  4. How do I put IntelliTrack WMS into demo mode?

1. I am trying to install IntelliTrack WMS, but when I enter my serial number I get an error message telling the number is not valid.

Make sure that you entered the serial number found on the IntelliTrack WMS jewel case.  Serial numbers are case sensitive.

2. I have purchased a full version of IntelliTrack WMS.  However, when I open it, it tells me I have only a few days left on my trial.

Overview:  Your initial installation of IntelliTrack WMS uses a trial license.  This license is good for ten calendar days, and does not require you to register the software.  If you decide to keep the software, you need to register your copy with PSC.  You will need to use the registration utility provided in the IntelliTrack WMS program group.  Follow the steps below

  1. Go to the computer where the License Manager is installed.  You must run this procedure on the computer/server where the license will be permanently placed.
    Once there, go to Start ->  Programs ->  IntelliTrack WMS -> Register WMS.
    Select the "Register Now" radio button and click "Next".
    Note:  The registration form is three pages long.  Required fields are designated by the red star (*).
    On the third page, fill in the requested information.
    Select the "Get Lock Code" button
    Follow the instructions provided in the dialog box.
    Click "OK"
  2. Right Click on the Start button and choose Explore.  Windows Explorer should open.
    Navigate to the LicenseMgr folder.  The default installation will be C:\LicenseMgr.
    Double click on the Echoid executable.  There are two Echoid files, one is a .dat and the other is a .exe.  Your are looking for the .exe.  It will be preceded by an icon which resembles a white rectangle with a blue bar on top.
  3. Write down the Locking Code 1 number.  Note:  This sequence is unique to the license manager server.  Double check this sequence.  Errors in the sequence could result in problems activating the program.
    Close Windows Explorer and return to the Licensing screen.
  4. Enter your locking code in the appropriate box.  Double check the code for accuracy.
    Choose either email or Fax for your send preference.
  5. Click "Finish".
  6. Read the dialog box and click "OK".  If you selected email, then WMS will send your email to PSC.  If you selected Fax, WMS will print the form to your selected printer.  Fax that form to PSC, using the number on the form.
  7. Click "OK".  The registration form will close.

3. How do I adjust the size of a data collection field on the RF Portable?

The length of the fields on the portable can be adjusted in the wmsrf.mdb database, which is located in the RFServer folder.  Note:  You must have full Access 2000 to perform this procedure.

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Navigate to and select the RFServer folder.
  3. Double Click the wmsrf.mdb.
  4. Go to the Tables objects.
  5. Open the RFSystemParameters table.
  6. Tab until you reach the column of the field you wish to adjust.
  7. Set the value of the field length to the desired setting.  Note: The value of the field length for collection on the RF Portable should not exceed the field size available in the WMS data file.
  8. Close the table and the wmsrf.mdb.
  9. The change will take effect the next time that field is accessed by the RF Portable.

4. How do I put IntelliTrack WMS into demo mode?

There is a Utility program available called LicUtil.exe which gives the option of placing IntelliTrack WMS into demo.  It can be downloaded from the following link:   LicUtil.exe - (84kb).

To use:

  1. Install LicUtil.exe into the ITCommon folder.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the ITCommon folder
  3. Double click on LicUtil.exe.
  4. When the utility opens, navigate to the configuration tab.
  5. Click the "Set Demo Mode" button.
  6. Exit the application.  IntelliTrack WMS should now be in demo mode.
